September 20th, 2022
6:00 – 7:00 pm
We take you to South America to learn about a plant already valued and consumed by the Guarani natives for its beneficial properties.
We are talking about “Yerba Mate” from which is made a drink of ancient tradition but in continuous evolution, spread around the world by the Jesuits and today consumed by celebrities, but above all an experience of sharing and conviviality.
Juliana Montagner, a Brazilian producer, has just got a patent in several countries, Green Mate Gold Reserve, an innovative product for which she has exclusive rights, which combines mate shoots with the typical processing of the best Asian (Orthodox) teas.
During the masterclass, you will discover the leaves of this evergreen plant belonging to the Aquifoliaceae family (scientific name: Ilex Paraguariensis) in a way you have never seen it before, through tasting and sensory analysis of Green Mate Gold Reserve.
Forget the characteristics of the traditional infusion and open your senses to discover a premiere of this novelty.
Juliana Montagner is director of Ximango Indústria de Erva-mate Ltda and founder of the Mon Julli brand in southern Brazil. She was born in Ilópolis, the city that has the scientific name of the plant, Ilex Paraguariensis, precisely where her Italian great-grandfather began production in the late 1800s.
Juliana developed the legacy she received, studying and deepening Camellia Sinensis and the universe of tea, with the mission of bringing the benefits of mate to the world. Thus was born Green Mate, patented by Mon Julli and obtained by processing mate shoots. The special production process yields a valuable health ally thanks to its tonic-stimulating and antioxidant properties, which is also excellent for the cosmetics sector.
Juliana holds a degree in Economics from the Catholic University in Porto Alegre with an MBA from the Carlo Cattaneo University in Castellanza (VA). She was president of the Friends of the herb-mate Association in the Vale del Taquari, initiating the geographical indication in the Region.
